.cb ELECTRONIC MAIL IS HERE

Better than telephone calls for one-way messages

. You can send the message any time of day or night

. You can take your time to compose the message and
say exactly what you want to say. The computer editor makes
it easy to change your mind about what you want to say.

. You get an immediate confirmation that the message
has been received at the other man's terminal.

. You and the recipient have a permanent record.

. You can send to a list just as easily as to one person.
No need to compose the message more than once.

Better than U.S. mail

. Immediate delivery (or use the low night telephone rates).

. No stamps to buy and lick.

. No trips to the mail box or post office.

	. No envelopes.

All you need is a Friden electronic mail terminal. Take it home,
plug it in to a telephone jack, and you are ready to type messages
and receive them. Complete instructions are provided,
but here is a simple example:

You want to tell your friend Gordon that you must postpone tomorrow's
conference,
so you type on your terminal

MAIL GORDON Can't make it tomorrow. How about Thursday at 10am same place?

When Gordon looks at his terminal he sees the message, because it's short -
if he hasn't received too many messages to fit on its screen.
Otherwise he sees a list of messages, and he can look at them one at
a time. Of course, you must already have put
Gordon's terminal's telephone number
in a list kept in your terminal.
Otherwise you must write the number instead of Gordon's name.

.Unlike facsimile systems and other mail systems, there is no
need to call Gordon or his secretary to pre-arrange the transmission.
You could send the message at midnight if you have a terminal at home,
and the recipient can look at his electronic mail whenever convenient.

If you have put the names and numbers of the members of your
sales committee in the SALES list in your
terminal, you could just type

MAIL SALES Meeting Friday 9AM in conference room,

and each of them will receive the message.

The Friden mail terminal brings the benefits of microcomputer technology to
businesses, large and small,
and to the individual. Besides sending and receiving messages,

.The Friden terminal keeps your files of messages.

.You can send messages to yourself and your associates
that will remind about important dates.

.You can use your Friden terminal to reference the Friden Databank
for the numbers of other mail terminal subscribers anywhere in the
world. The numbers are always up-to-date. If you go on a trip,
you can change your number in the Data Bank at any time. The Friden
Databank always has the late news digest on file, the latest stock
reports, and much other useful information that is always up-to-date.
